Links to Tools can be placed anywhere in a Course that content can. Tools such as Discussion
Board Forums and Virtual Classroom sessions can exist in the same Content Area with Learning
Modules, files, and assessments. Adding tools to folders containing related content creates a
seamless experience for users because all materials pertaining to a subject can be accessed from
the same location.
Instructors may also explain the context of the Tool when it is added to the Content Area, including
a description of what it is used for, directions and its use and attach any necessary files. For
example, the Instructor may add a link to a Discussion Board, explain that users need to participate
in the Forum during a specific week, and attach an article for discussion.
